SOME GIRL(S) ‘BREAK-UP’ STORY CONTEST SOME GIRL(S) opening on Wednesday March 25 marks Vision Theatre’s 20th production since our start in 2000. What a ride it has been, and we are sure that the years coming up will be just as fun, just as wild and just as rockin’ as it has been so far. So in tribute of marking this 20th production of Vision Theatre existence we have a little wee fun SOME GIRL(S) contest for you! SOME GIRL(S) written by Neil LaBute is about a man's odyssey through four hotel rooms, as he flies across the United States in search of the perfect woman (whom he's already broken up with). While throughout this his fiancée (that’s right – he’s already engaged!) is waiting for him back at home working on the wedding details. The play is touching, funny and at times painfully hilarious as we watch this man (boy?) try to atone for his past mistakes with his former flames; or is there more to the picture than meets the eye, as the great Neil Young once sung (and probably still does). One way to find out is to come see this production brilliantly brought to life by director Ken Godmere and the cast that features the talents of Joe Marques, Robin Guy, Miriam Westland, Jan Murray and Kate Drummond. SOME GIRL(S) ‘BREAK-UP’ STORY CONTEST DETAILS In the spirit of the play, we want you to send us your ‘break-up’ story. Funny, quirky, weird, unusual, hilarious and maybe even flat out outrageous type ‘break-ups’ that you may have been through, heard of someone going through, or even just a figment of your imagination. The cast of SOME GIRL(S) will select their five favorite stories (Each cast member will select their top ‘break-up’). The top five chosen ‘break-upees’ or ‘break-upers’ will each win a pair of tickets to see SOME GIRL(S) on Opening Night, Wednesday March 25 at 8pm. Vision Theatre will post all the stories in the Arts Court Theatre lobby, as well as the Vision Theatre website, and Facebook event page. We will continue adding stories as they come in, even past the deadline. Don’t worry; no names will be attached to any of the break-up stories, so it will be completely anonymous to the public J Deadline to submit your ‘Break-up’ Story to be entered into the Opening Night contest is Friday March 20, 2009. The winners will be notified on Monday March 23, 2009. Send your entry to info@visiontheatre.ca with the subject heading of SOME GIRL(S) ‘BREAK-UP’ STORY CONTEST Remember we are looking for funny, quirky, weird, unusual, hilarious and maybe even flat out outrageous break-up stories. Don’t worry if you miss the deadline for opening night, we will have runner ups for the following week! By submitting your story entry you are giving Vision Theatre consent to post your story anonymously in the Arts Court Theatre Lobby and the Vision Theatre website and Facebook event pages. |
